The ketch is registered to a Jersey limited liability company the shares of which are held by the Trustees of the Jersey Sailing Trust. There are currently only two directors and it is they who have assumed liability for the marine mortgage and with that liability there are very real feelings of involvement in the running of the yacht as well as a significant feeling of ownership of the offshore sailing project. The directors would welcome enquiries from persons who wish to be closely involved in the running of the ketch and ensuring that the benevolent aspect of the project continues to evolve. There are opportunities for experienced sailors to act as crew on all cruises, there is a need for volunteer skippers who could actually make these cruises happen and there are options to become a significant participant in the management of the overall operation of the ketch by taking a financial share in the calendar of activities. The cruising calendar obviously has fifty two weekends, which means one hundred and four days, plus four additional bank holidays. Added to that there are six berths in the ketch. This gives rise to a minimum total of ((104+4) x 6)=648 bed/berth nights which are available each weekend. Then, in addition to the weekends, there are of course weekday options ((52 x 5) x6)=1540 more bed/berth nights to choose from. Potential skippers and crew who are interested in becoming involved in the running of the ketch are invited to secure sixty two bed/berth nights for their permanent personal use each year in return for a four thousand pound fully refundable share certificate which would/could/might be traded with or between other crew members. In effect this boat-share plan gives you all the benefits of having a large yacht at your disposal but potentially without any of the technical hassles of maintenance, repairs and general TLC.
